You pray earnestly for all your problems to be removed. You long for the light and for wonderful spiritual ecstasy. But can you not see that it is by going through the discipline of these outer things that your eyes are opened and your sensitivity to heavenly truth increased? You cannot taste and see until you have passed through this process of discipline. Therefore, thank God for the trials and heartaches, which discipline your soul until it becomes able to comprehend and absorb the beauty of the heavenly life.
